Competition Rules and Regulations
GENERAL INFO:
*Entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis and a limited performance schedule will be set
as to never oversell a competition. Please make sure to register early to reserve your spot.
*Our company accepts entries for all studios, schools, and independent registrations.
*All registration entries and payment must be submitted no later than two weeks before the competition date.
*No entries or payment will be received at a Redemption Dance & Cheer Showcase event.
*Payments will need to be received in the form of Credit Card during registration or Studio/School/Personal check may be
provided no later than three weeks before registration closes.
*Please be precise when submitting your registration, as no entries will be considered COMPLETE until all registration information and payment have been received.
*Any changes made to a completed registration one week prior to an event will be subject to a $10 additional fee per change.
*All music must be uploaded to our Redemption Dance Showcase registration software or can be emailed to [email protected] one week prior to the event. It is also recommended to bring a backup on an IPAD/IPOD/IPHONE device.
*Props are permitted and must be listed during registration and approved through RDCS. Simulated weapons with a
dull, safe edge may be accepted with a pre-approval via RDCS. Props not permitted are; fire, swords, knives, liquids, paint/gels, aerosol, glitter, fog, smoke, powder, or substances that will affect the dance surface. Props will also need to
be set up in a timely manner to avoid an score deduction. In addition, when using props, please leave the court or stage
floor clean as safety is our top priority and ensure the bottom of each prop is scratch resistant. Additionally, it is the sole responsibility of each studio/school to ensure their props are carried on and off the performance area and no RDCS staff
will be available for assistance.
*Competition flooring will be as follows:
-Court competitions will be hosted on a regulation size basketball court with markings, 84'x50'
-Stage competitions will be hosted on a Performing Arts Center or High School Auditorium stage
*All routines will need to be performed per the final schedule order of performance, unless a prior schedule adjustment
has been approved to keep the competition schedule running on time.
*Our competitions do not permit the purchase of additional performance minutes, therefore please follow the
time limits stated in the guidelines.
*A preliminary schedule will be emailed to all studio owners/school coaches/staff the week before the event, and the
final competition schedule will be posted online the Monday before the event.
*All participants and coaches attending any Redemption Dance and Cheer Showcase event give permission and consent for RDCS to use their images, photographs, and/or videos for advertising and promotional purposes.
*Redemption Dance and Cheer Showcase runs a family-friendly competition and all music and performances must exhibit such. No profanity, questionable lyrics, suggestive gestures, or inappropriate costumes permitted.
*Our competitions also offer a Photogenic Award in which any performer competing in the event may participate.
The fee is $20 to enter and our team of highly qualified judges will award Most Photogenic. The winners from each age category will receive a specialty award from one of our Sponsors or participating vendors. Entries and payment can be made via our website www.redemptiondanceshowcase.com and must be received along with the entry photo one week before the competition. Photos will need to be emailed to [email protected]
AGE DIVISIONS & CLASSIFICATIONS:
STUDIO dancers will be determined by the average of the total team of the current calendar year.
Little Mini 2-3 yrs, Mini 4-6 yrs, Youth 7-9 yrs, Junior 10-12 yrs, Teen 13-15 yrs, Senior 16-18 yrs, Adult/Professional 19+
Special Needs all ages
SCHOOL teams are primarily divided by team size. Teams must dance a minimum of 70% of their eligible team members.
Jr High/Middle School, HS JV, HS Varsity, Special Needs all ages
OFFICERS (School Division) is a category designed for students who hold leadership with their team.
For any Officer Group to be eligible for overall awards, their team must compete in at least three categories.

*Please note that if any studio or school chooses to compete multiple routines in the same style genre,
you will be competing against yourselves in that category.
CHEERLEADING - School or Recreational Teams:
*Please note; age divisions, time limits, and pricing remain the same for cheer as it does for dance.
Cheer Rules & Regulations include:
Performance routines may include the following as long as the designated time limit is not exceeded:
*Cheer/Performance - a routine comprised of both a Cheer section as well as Music set performance
*Game Day Routine - Fight Song, Sideline, and Cheer = Total time 3.30 minutes
The use of signs, poms, and/or megaphones are acceptable.
Prohibited skills include:
Basket toss, elevator toss, multi-based toss, twisting released dismounts, single leg stunts (excluding liberties/liberty hitches)
Performance attire must not show midriff
PERFORMANCE LEVELS:
STAR (Beginner), PRESTIGE (Intermediate), SUPERIOR ( Advanced), ADULT/PROFESSIONAL
Teachers/Studio Owners must use their own sound judgement when determining which level to place their dancers.
Routines that the judges determine are placed incorrectly will be moved to the correct level per the judges.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY:
Our company will proudly be selling photos and videos of every competition routine at a reasonable price and will have a viewing station set up in the main lobby. Both photos and videos can be purchased at the time of the event.
Additionally, the allowance of video and photography will be permitted via all court style competitions, however we will
have staff monitoring the gymnasium to ensure no spectators are recording dances other than their studio or school team. Photography and Videography will be strictly prohibited at any Stage competition, however, our company will be offering a PHOTO/VIDEO STATION in which a ticket can be purchased for any member of the performing team to freely take photos and videos of their group. Additional information regarding prices of the PHOTOGRAPHY STATION will be emailed to all participates two weeks before the event takes place.

In the event a competition is not able to be hosted on the original date set, we will work with the venue as well as
all performers on re-scheduling to a later date. In the event the competition must be cancelled due to a State wide
shutdown due to COVID and rescheduling the event is unavailable, we will offer a 100% refund or your fees can be transferred to one of our Virtual events.

Liability Waiver
In order to attend any of our events, we require that all participants fill out a liability waiver and return it to
Redemption Dance and Cheer Showcase, LLC via email or mail, a week before the event. Liability waivers can also be submitted at competition check in on the day of the event, however if a performer does not turn in the liability waiver they will be unable to compete.

Any performer competing in dance competitions takes certain inherent risks, including, but are not limited to, sprains, bruises, pulled muscles, and broken bones and every performer accepts such risks. Therefore by virtue of entering this event, it is agreed that participants will not hold Redemption Dance and Cheer Showcase, LLC, its officers, directors, judges, staff or employees responsible for injuries sustained or illnesses contracted by them while in attendance and/or participating in any activity related to a Redemption Dance and Cheer Showcase, LLC and the hosting facility are not responsible for personal injury to contestants or spectators. Redemption Dance and Cheer Showcase, LLC is not responsible for lost or stolen property. Please do not leave your personal property and valuables unattended while at the event venue or dressing rooms.
